Splayed Alder trunks 2 (freehand drawing using a large hog brush loaded with diluted oil paint followed by scene painter’s charcoal)

Splayed Alder trunks

This is a freehand drawing (as usual) on a 24 x 24″ heavy duty cotton canvas using respectively [1] a large hog brush loaded with dilute oil colour [2] scene painter’s charcoal. The subject (or model) is the same clump of splayed Alder as in my previous painting… the only difference between them being the viewing angle. Again I will be allowing myself artistic (or poetic) licence to turn this collection of marks /  signs into a coloured pattern / Gestalt that is pleasing to both eye and mind. Work will begin later today. Now I need a break.
