This is a freehand drawing (as usual) on a 24 x 24″ heavy duty cotton canvas using respectively a large hog brush loaded with dilute oil colour scene painter’s charcoal. The subject (or model) is the same clump of splayed Alder as in my previous painting… the only difference between them being the viewing angle. Again I will be allowing myself artistic (or poetic) licence to turn this collection of marks / signs into a coloured pattern / Gestalt that is pleasing to both eye and mind. Work will begin later today. Now I need a break.
