The spruce plantation around the artist’s studio / atelier continues to disappear. (Apparently the timber is fetching a good price on the markets.) And so it is that fairly suddenly, and after years of darkness and gloom, I can see the sun (even if it is hidden behind foul and ugly clouds from the Atlantic that strangle it from view much of the time here in the westernmost province of Europe!) So there is joy but at a price, namely, views of a desolate and barren land. It will be interesting for me to watch how this story unfolds…
