Quick oil sketch on paper of westerly view from my kitchen window

oil sketch on paper of view from kitchen window

I love spontaneous image-making, its results, its products, so much more than premeditated studies… they seem to be more alive (if a mere image can be considered as a living or dead being) or more full of life than carefully executed paintings…. than all the carefully executed paintings in the world… give me one lively sketch and you can keep the rest.

BTW this view is painted on paper that has had a couple of coats of acrylic white undercoat primer. Because of the smoothness, as compared with canvas, the brush-marks show up very well.

This study took me approx 10 – 15 minutes.
