Fine old country seat with a grand stairway leading up to a bright red front door and out in the middle of nowhere! Need to consider what to do with this small painting, where to take it… was thinking in terms of Monet and Rouen cathedral but the facade of this place bears no comparison although, having said that, when compared with the facades of much modern stuff it stands out like a cut diamond. Why is it old buildings, and ruins especially, look so good? Oil on canvas, 18 x 14″, July 19 2019
