My dear friend and neighbour Meg passed away peacefully in her sleep at 5.05 this morning aged 92.

I will miss her badly.

I made a couple of large paintings of her a year or two ago. The one above (which I have cropped) shows her sitting in her favourite chair by the window, with a cup of tea in her hand, enjoying a sunny summer afternoon. She looked so beautiful that I took a photo of her and then made an oil painting after the photo.

  1. Sorry for your loss, Peter, she sounds like a lovely lady and friend – I love that you painted her portrait so recently and so beautifully. What a wonderful way to remember her!
