Humanity

I don’t know who took the original photograph of these Vietnamese villagers who were captured (though not in spirit) by American soldiers and held because they were suspected of being Viet Cong affiliates.

I was struck by the beauty and humanity of their expressive faces. I have cropped the original photo and zoomed in on their suffering faces.

I am reminded of Giotto’s paintings of faces.
