Hillside and straggly stuff

A3 pencil and watercolour drawing / sketch, Nov 27 2020

There used to be a spruce plantation here. The spruce was harvested a year or two ago and what remains is a man-made mess. It’s now been replanted with the same cash crop. Same old short-term short-sighteness!

Nature has begun to reclaim the land and will build yet again but it takes time and then of course men will come along again and wreak their havoc.

The only really natural things to be seen here are the hills. All the straggly stuff is fighting for survival.

One wonders, what if gold happened to be discovered in them thar hills? No doubt, even they would be destroyed and made a mess of.
